Fulcrum Antiques is owned by Steve and Allison Bucknell, who live in Royal Wootton Bassett.
The son of a dealer and restorer, Steve grew up surrounded by antiques, and spent many weekends and school holidays helping-out in the shop or clearing houses. This interest led to some time spent with a firm of Surveyors in their auction house at Cirencester, where Steve went on to become a Chartered Surveyor. Having spent most of his career to date working in real estate, Steve is now an independent development consultant and this has freed up time to send on his real passion – antiques.
Fulcrum Antiques deals in furniture and ceramics from the early 18th Century to early 20th Century.
Specialisms include:
There are also watercolours, engravings, oil paintings and curios in stock. Items normally range in price from £10 to around £500.
If there is something in particular you want but is not in stock, Steve and Allison may be able to help seek it out for you.
Steve and Allison seek out antiques from auctions, dealers and private sellers and always look for quality. Ceramics need to be in good order – with no major cracks or repairs – but Steve is adept at repairing and renovating oak and mahogany furniture for resale (private repair work is not offered).
